I'm Kyle Phillips, owner of Phill Photog, and I'm living proof that in life's darkest moments, we can find the most brilliant silver linings. Nine years ago, when I lost my father, I picked up his professional camera, hoping to see the world through his eyes. Each click of the shutter became a whisper of his voice, a touch of his spirit - and it saved me. In the quietness of the viewfinder, I found solace and a new purpose.

 

Photography isn't just my profession; it's my lifeline. It's been five years since I turned professional, but it feels like I've been doing this forever. I started at the very bottom, answering a $40 Craigslist ad to assistant with a photoshoot, yeah you read that right, $40. Now, I'm humbled to say that my work has been recognized among the Top 50 Best Wedding Photos in the World for 2022 by WorldsBestWeddingPhotographers. It's been quite a journey, but the thrill and joy of capturing someone's special day never get old.

 

I’m also a Howard University graduate, having studied Supply Chain Management. While it’s a far cry from photography, the discipline, determination, and strategic thinking I learned there have all been vital in my journey to becoming a successful professional photographer and videographer.

 

What makes my passion for media even more profound is that it runs in my blood. My grandfather, too, was a photographer. Every time I hold my camera, I feel a sense of belonging, a natural instinct that connects me to the generations before me.

 

But who am I beyond the camera? I'm a brother, a son, an uncle. My family is my strength, my anchor in stormy seas. Their love and support have been my constant companions, giving me the courage to follow my passion and the empathy to capture the essence of love in every photo I take.

I'm a man who found hope and purpose in the comforting click of a shutter, a man who sees the world through the lens of love and loss, a man who is dedicated to capturing your precious moments with all the love, passion, and empathy that drive my journey.
